A Quiet Moment (Wordless Wednesday V)

knitted lace blanket

My girl knows only two speeds. She spends her waking hours constantly moving, a warm, tiny mass determined to expend every bit of her energy. And then, without warning, she demands rest.

When she sleeps, the entire house goes quiet. I can read books not made of cardboard without fear that she will rip out essential pages. I can knit without pausing every five minutes to untangle her from whatever project I decided to attempt. I get a few moments to rest myself and prepare for the next round of constant movement.

Nap time, right now, is necessary. For kiddo, for me, for Z, even for the dogs.

Thank goodness for nap time eh? I loved how my kids where so full on when they were little but nap was necessary for all of us to restore some balance

Same here. It’s so much fun to chase the kiddo, but oh my is it exhausting. I am a big fan of the couple hours of rest we all get when it’s nap time

She looks angelic and peaceful at rest, not to mention, warm covered in her knits. :-D

I do love how her peaceful expression seems to convey that all is right with the world. And that particular hand knit I cannot take credit for. It was a Christmas present from her Auntie, and it’s quickly become her favorite blankie. Just this morning she was tossing it around her shoulders and throwing her head back, almost as if she were proudly showing off a fine fur stole.

Beautiful photos! My toddler is the same way. He is going non-stop, most of the time he hates to slow down for a nap. Anyone other that mama and papa would not even think he was tired, but he crashes! I have started a new photography link party and would love for you to come share your talents.

Thank you! I’ll definitely join in the link party.
